Mark your calendars! The Niagara Angels are hosting its first investor dinner in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The meeting will take place at the Old Winery Restaurant, 2228 Niagara Stone Road on Wednesday, October 30. The venue is set in a beautifully restored winery serving Tuscan inspired food. In addition to our dinner format and presenters, there will be a keynote speaker, a brief AGM, and a special cocktail reception to welcome new and prospective members. Caddle Ranks in Canada Top New Growth Companies for 2019

Nearly five years after it launched, and with investments made by the Niagara Angels, St. Catharines-based mobile app and research firm Caddle has earned a coveted spot on the 2019 Startup 50 Ranking of Canada’s Top New Growth Companies. Canadian Business and Maclean’s ranked Caddle No 30 on the annual list. Caddle made the 2019 Startup 50 list with two-year revenue growth of 517%. Congratulations to Ransom Hawley, CEO and the entire Caddle team for this achievement!

CoHealth Closes $200k Bridge with Niagara Angels

In an exclusive deal with the Niagara Angels, CoHealth secured a bridge financing round before seeking a larger raise in the VC community.
As a refresher, CoHealth is a mobile platform that allows health consumers to access the resources they need to manage care while giving health-related organizations a platform to make these resources available. CoHealth was made for the health consumer, providing an easy and convenient experience, enabling better care management and access to resources.

NAN investee company, Chickapea, a Certified B Corporation, has been named a Best For The World honouree in recognition of the company’s positive impact on the environment, workforce, local communities, suppliers, customers, and corporate governance. Chickapea ranks in the top 10% of all B Corps across all of these impact areas, earning them a well-deserved spot on the Best For The World: Overall list.

Smarter Sorting Lands $17 Million Series A

Smarter Sorting, another company in NAN’s portfolio, just announced a $17 million dollar investment. US Ecology, a leading regulated waste treatment, and disposal company led the latest round of funding, followed by RTP Ventures and a group of independent industry experts.

SomaDetect Closes $2.6 Million CAD Seed Round for Dairy Farming Sensor Technology

SomaDetect, which has developed a sensor that helps farmers measure milk quality, has completed a $2.6 million CAD ($2 million USD) seed round. The startup, which already raised funds from the Niagara Angel Network, will use the new funds to expand as it works with dairy farmers and industry partners in North America to enhance and scale its technology using algorithms.
